Ah, Maui! So pretty, so nice and another day of sun and fun for our guests. Dana and I also treated ourselves to a quick trip to Kaanapali Beach, which was a former whaler’s village. Now the three mile stretch of sand is home to the island's best resorts and overlooks the beautiful island of Lanai which is a romantic destination of untouched tranquility that also features more world-class resorts, but is not a port of call for cruise ships.

There were a couple whale watching tours today and one of the tour groups was thrilled as they had a close encounter with a Humpback whale. Evidently, the whales were very active this day and one swam right at the boat and dove down at the last moment before blowing its’ spout and spraying the onlookers. Evidently, even the tour operators had never had this happen to them before as they were all scrambling to get a hold of their cameras. There was also a dolphin thatstayed very close to that same tour boat and would rub his back underneath the edge of the ships catamaran hull as it was sailing. He was very curious and was photographed by many. I asked around and these pictures were offered by Bob Mc Cullough, who is one of our guests. Amazing shots! Some look like they are out of professional publications, but they are not.
At 5:00pm the captain pulled up the anchor and we are now on our way to another paradise – Tahiti and French Polynesia. Before we get there our guests will enjoy what is normally some of the best “at s0ea” days in the world’s oceans. We’ll sure be busy as we get to do our thing and for sure, we’ll have fun doing it! As for Hawaii, Aloha! Thanks for more great memories!
